Exploring Our Neighborhood

We have loved every moment at this little homestead God gave us almost a year ago.
We spend almost every minute outside that we can. This is the front of our house...our dog is included too.

Across the lot behind us is the creek. Since Seth and Sam have decided that they are big fishermen, I think we're going to spend a lot of afternoons here this summer. Joshy loved throwing rocks. Supposedly salmon will spawn up Scappoose creek. It would be wild if they could catch something! In the meantime, I'm happy to spend peaceful time in this beauty.

They are all about the tackle. They have even been dabbling in making their own flies.
 Such a cute kid.

In front of our house is a huge hay field. We've been waiting for the tractors to come out to cut it--and this week they finally did! On our walk the other night, we noticed that the gate was open, and we had a hankering to let the boys run in the fields! It was so fun and carefree. I laughed and laughed watching Josh jump the hay rows.

 Hay makes for beautiful pictures!
Ben had the idea to have the boys on his back while holding Joshy. First attempt, a tumble!
Second attempt, they didn't fall, but didn't make for a very good photo.
This is much better. I love the men in my life!
 Run for days
 Rosey loved it too
 "Cheese"
This is our second evening feeding the horses down the street. Now the boys are asking to do it every night. They loved everything about it. Seth said, "I love how they breath on me." It is very neat to be so close to such gorgeous animals.
Seth
Joshy loved it too, and was making clicking noises to try to get the horses to come to him. It was precious. He's fearless when it comes to animals.
 Sammy
 "Here. Hay. Horses."
 Making clicking noises
 End of the evening.
The evening sunset.

Oh how I love this home!
