Joshua: 1 year old

Now that I'm VERY behind on my blog (with so many fun pictures to post!), it's tough to know where to start. I've decided on Josh's one year old post. It's hard to believe that he already turned one. He's such a sweet little boy and we can't imagine our family without him. Here's a little about Joshy at 12 months:

-Still mostly bear crawling (at unbelievable speed) and absolutely refuses to walk. When we hold his hands to encourage him to walk in front of us, he just crumbles, refusing to plant his feet. We've caught him standing on his own a couple times, but as soon as he realizes he's not holding onto something, he sits.
-Favorite foods: blackberries, olives, noodles...basically anything that we are eating.
-He can do quite a few "tricks": high-fives, all-done, waving, clapping (especially when we say, "Good job Josh"), and signing "more" intermittently.
-He starting to snuggle with his stuffed animals and "give them love." He'll tuck an animal under his arm and crawl around. It's so sweet.
-He LOVES throwing balls.
-He still loves being outside.
-Is very shy with strangers and prefers his mommy or daddy to be with him at all times--even with his grandparents.
-He loves to play peek-a-boo and chase. When he "catches" you in chase, he crawls up and "nuzzles" (i.e. smashes his face and puts his butt in the air and cuddles). It's so hilarious!
-We're pretty sure he's said a couple words: "mama", "dada", "no-no", and maybe even "ball" right before they took him back for surgery (who knows--maybe we're just those parents though and all those words were mere babbling).
-I'll have to update exact statistics after his one year check-up next week, but I do know that he was 19 pounds the day of his surgery. He's tall and skinny!

We LOVE this age! He's learning so much and has a great sense of humor. He seems to be a bit stubborn, but overall has a very sweet disposition. We're so grateful and amazed by the miracle of this child. He brings so much joy into our household and healing for our souls. We love you Joshua Jeffery!

Alright, so if Josh was born at the same time as Seth and Sam, they'd be triplets. Check out these pictures of the big boys on their first birthday in the same outfit:

Josh is the top two, Sam on left bottom, Seth on right bottom. It's really ridiculous how much they look the same. On this bottom photo, Sam is on the left and that expression is exactly Josh's. So funny!
