It’s been three weeks since we made our big move to Scappoose and we’re slowly getting settled in. We continue to love it. There are so many little things that we enjoy about our new home, from having a separate laundry room with a bathroom that the boys can use when they are playing outside and not get dirty feet on carpet, to Josh’s room being as far from the playroom as possible (it bordered the playroom in our old home), to the all day shade that the huge maple tree provides our deck.
Neither of our immediate families could help on the move weekend, but came and visited shortly after. We were anxious to show them our new home and we very blessed by their visits in the past weeks. Here’s a few pictures of life at the new home and our time with family:
Ribs dinner with the Morris’ on the deck
There is the most beautiful walk up our road (which dead-ends about 2 miles up the hills from us)
This was the most gorgeous evening, and our view on our walk included a newborn colt with his mama.
The Morris’ stayed to watch the sunset with us. Here’s Deedo telling the boys a story—they adore him!

We had both Levi and Caleb at the house during the day some (separately) as they were in between basketball camps. I’m pretty sure Sam and Seth would like it better if they just lived with us…
Joshy finally warmed up to Levi and was doing this by the end of the visit:
Caleb taught the boys how to play dodge ball:
And I gave Caleb such a hard time for holding our new niece Elizabeth when she was a newborn and not Josh, that I guilted him into playing with Josh. (I think he kind of liked it.)
My mom was flying out of PDX to meet my sister’s family in Michigan, so my parents were up for a couple days. My dad stayed longer with me, as Ben had his “mancation” with friends for the weekend. It was so great to have my dad’s help! He cleaned and organized our entire garage amazingly and we’re so grateful. By the end of the visit, Josh was really into his Papa, and would snub me and go to him.
And we have to end with another couple sunset pictures. These are all taken by Ben, who is quite obsessed with sunsets:
Here’s our house!
