I love that God saw fit to give me twins.
I love the joy you bring into my and Ben’s life.
Seth, I love how you hold your tongue out when you concentrate. You are so like your mama in many ways!
Sam, I love how you want to cuddle EVERY morning. You lay on your back, then arch it up so that my arm will fit under you. I savor every moment you still want to cuddle!
I love how you’re my little companions while we go and do errands together. I love when you slip your hands into mine while walking through the store.
I love how when I was sick, I could put a bowl of dried rice in front of you guys and you played for hours contently. Your imaginations are awesome.
I love how you’re obsessed with being either 6 or 30. I don’t know why you chose those as your dream ages, but they sure are. Sam, you’ve decided that “maybe mommy will be taller when she’s 30.”
I love how much you laugh. I love how I can leave you for an hour in your room for “rest” with your brother, and most the time is spent in laughter. Not fighting, laughter. May you always live that way!
I love how Ben and I can take you to any restaurant, and you do so well. Maybe it’s because we don’t do it very often? There hasn’t been a time that we’ve gone to a restaurant with you two and haven’t been complemented on how well you behave. But beyond that, I’m thankful that we can take you to places that serve only Asian or Mexican food and you’re thrilled with it.
I love how much you love the Winnie the Pooh books, and have me pretend to be Kanga every day. You guys rotate between being Roo, Gopher and Pooh. Daddy is usually Tigger or Christopher Robin. Sam, I love your obsession with Heffalumps.
I love people’s reaction when I tell them that you rarely watch TV. I love the imaginations you have that enable you to never be bored. I love your built in playmate because you are a twin. I love how you can go from a hunting trip, to an airplane, to cooking in the kitchen, to fighting a fire in a span of 10 minutes.
Sam, I love how much you love your daddy and crave his touches. I love how you just wait for the weekend and savor every moment with your dad. I love how you want to wrestle, ride on, and tackle your daddy.
Seth, I love how affectionate you are. I love how you spontaneously tell Ben and I, “I love you,” all the time. I love when you snuggled under my arm on the couch the other day, just because. I love sitting by you at the table, because at least once every meal you lean over for a kiss.
I loved listening to you two perfectly play out this scene from “Go Dog Go” by Dr. Seuss: “Do you like my hat?” “No, I do not like your hat.”
I love how flexible you’ve been with food allergies. You’ve accepted “no” to so many different foods with an ease I wouldn’t have thought possible. I’m so thankful.
Sammy, I love watching you observe. You are so intent on learning to do things just like other people—be it your daddy, the drummer at church, or your brother.
Seth, I love watching you color. You really are talented at it. You hold your fingers perfectly, and stay in the lines beyond your age. I love how much you love it.
I love how every time we eat salad, you always ask for seconds. What kid does that?
I love how you’re always game to eat popcorn with me.
I love how you twirl your hair when you’re tired.
I love your earnestness, your sincerity.
I love you, Seth and Sam!
