Crooked River

Checked off the summer fun list: crooked river campout.

It was a great year at crooked river. Ben and I kept noticing, we're really close to it being much, much easier. We barely saw the twins as they were off gallivanting around with their cousins and aunts and uncles, and Josh--he was quite independent as well. We had very few wake-ups at night (for once the screaming kids weren't ours!) and no one puked in the tent this year either (read last year's fiasco http://benjamiemorris.blogspot.com/2014/08/crooked-river-camping.html). Give us one more year and crooked river will be a breeze!

Some of my favorite memories of this year is Seth and Sam both holding one of the huge toads from frogging, Josh zooming around the gazebo on his balance bike, playing volleyball with my silly husband making every one laugh, watching the big boys practice swimming in the pool, and in general seeing the twins be confident and independent. I was so proud of them as they went on special outings with Tani and Glenn and their cousins and they rode their bikes all around camp. On the first evening Seth came up to me with a big grin and said, "I LOVE crooked river because we can go wherever we want and not even tell you." These are great steps for the twins and it gives me hope that someday Josh, too, will not be semi-attached to my leg.
Josh thought that the tent was the coolest thing and spent the first evening running back and forth playing with Jeff and Diane.
Joshy sacked out after LOTS of play
Cousin Ellie was all about the watermelon bowl.
The gazebo where the kids rode their bikes. I'm kicking myself for not getting a picture and video of Josh zooming around in there. He really got the hang of his balance bike and now definitely needs a helmet because he's all about the speed.
There is always plenty of babies to hold! This was the youngest at camp: Jaiven. He's a cuddle bug!
Twins playing Sorry with Grandma Di Di.
The pool was the perfect depth for Sam and Seth to be able to swim around confidently.
Nathan was a champ playing keep away with all the kids.
And pretending to be a dolphin with boys

Sammy in a lounger, Seth on his bike
"Wook mom, wook," is what I hear a lot from Josh these days as he shows me "cool" things
Reagan, Titus and Josh using tent pegs to build towers.
Kasie and Melita playing boche ball with the boys.
Sam, Analise, Seth and Hannah pretending to be horses
Daddy and Joshy
