Our little Joshy had a busy month because he learned to CRAWL! Yikes. Our life has changed around here. He is into everything and is exploring each and every room and cupboard of the house. His favorite toy (of, course) is the boys’ lego bins, which are off limits. Anytime he sees Sam and Seth head to their room, he’s off after them, desperate to get his chubby little fingers into those bins and start sucking on lego wheels. So, here’s the new set-up for Seth and Sam’s room:
That way Josh can still be in the room with them, but cannot get into the legos. It’s a good compromise. Here’s what else Joshua has been up to this past month:
-He got his second double ear infection 3 weeks after his first. This time, as soon as he stopped falling asleep well and got fussy, we took him into the doctor. Frequent ear infections are a natural result of his cleft palate and it is possible that he may have to get tubes in even before his palate surgery in September. However, we are praying that he doesn’t have to!
-He has four teeth. One of his top teeth came in weeks before the other, so he has the most hilarious snaggle tooth, which he likes to showcase by a crooked smile.
-He still loves his solids and gets very excited while eating them. His favorite are peas and applesauce with cinnamon on it. He’s getting better at finger food. He’s taken his bottle better this month and is taking between 20-24 ounces a day.
-I have slowly started transitioning him to formula the past couple weeks; he takes about 8 ounces of formula a day now and isn’t spitting up too much. My goal is to be done pumping by the end of this month and I cannot even express how excited I am! I have already cut down to 3 pumps a day and it is magical! Woo hoo! Almost there!
-He’s been so content once he started crawling and loves exploring the house. He’s a little rascal and is into everything. He loves all the “no-no’s”: pushing stools around, opening cupboards, playing with legos. I swear if there is one thing in the room he isn’t supposed to play with, he will bypass all toys and find it!
-He has grown quite attached to Ben this month and expects Ben to pick him up the moment he gets home. Another son who adores his daddy—I am so blessed by my husband!
And I had to save the best for last. This is the look we get most days…what a snaggle-toothed rascal!
